The IHealth activation of advanced electronic health record (EHR) functionality, including electronic ordering (computerized provider order entry, or CPOE) at South Island Tertiary sites is re-scheduled as follows:
- May 25, 2024 is go live for Victoria General Hospital, Gorge Road Hospital acute units and South Island Surgical Centre.
- June 8, 2024 is go live for Royal Jubilee Hospital.
A total of 21 ambulatory clinics will activate at the same time as acute care areas on May 25 and June 8. (See clinic list in the memo.)
This timing change was necessary to accommodate the transition of Island Health’s Cerner system to a Remote Hosting Option (RHO), which was delayed until February 23-24. The RHO dates were determined to be too close to Tertiary Go-Live dates, and additional time required to ensure system stabilization.
Medical staff at South Island Tertiary sites are urged to register for their Virtual Facilitated Education session before the March 8 deadline.
