What? With support from the Physician Health Program, the South Island MSA is serving as BC’s pilot community for the WellDoc Canada Physician Wellness Measurement Survey. This is a 15-minute survey that is designed to 1) gauge burnout, 2) identify drivers of poor physician wellness, and 3) identify possible strategies to enhance wellness.
What’s different about this survey?
- It’s being championed by the South Island MSA Physician Wellness and Social Committee and the South Island MSA Executive. We want to spur change.
- It is designed to be a quality improvement process, not a research study, and is focused on identifying how to support staff physician wellness at the system level. This approach has been shown to be more impactful and results in better uptake.
Who? Physicians at RJH and VGH who have Active or Provisional Privileges
When? April 1 – 30th, 2025
Why? We’ve heard from physicians across the South Island that, while individual actions towards wellness are important, system change is what’s needed to shift the hospital and physician culture. This survey will ensure your voice, and the voices of your colleagues, go directly into identifying solutions to the problems you face every day.
How? Keep your eyes out for an email to your preferred address on April 1st from Well Doc Canada.
