Discovering Your Inner Detective: How to Write Effective Inquiry Questions to Improve Care
Please join us for a workshop covering key steps in the process of translating a clinical observation into an answerable inquiry question. Aimed at a clinical audience, we will work through the basics of how to start an inquiry project (whether research or quality improvement), share resources and frameworks that simplify the task of writing an inquiry question, and apply these tools in breakout rooms with real-life examples. Please bring your clinical observations or new inquiry questions to share and discuss! Finally, we outline a roadmap to access further support and implement your clinician-led inquiry project in Island Health.

Knowledge Management for Continuous Improvement: Finding the Information inside Data
Continuous improvement cycles lead to change through learning from data collected real-time during practice. However, before clinicians or decision-makers can act on data, these often large and complex healthcare datasets must be parsed for meaningful information. Please join us for a panel discussion exploring the role of information providers in learning communities, and demystifying the process of going from data to knowledge. Drawing from compelling examples in Island Health, we will learn about the challenges and opportunities encountered in interrogating data, how information products are used to communicate with decision-makers, and much more.
