Welcome new Hematologists Dr. Meghan Drew-McKinstry and Dr. Leanne Genge!

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Meghan Drew-McKinstry and Dr. Leanne Genge will join Pacific Hematology group in July and September 2022, respectively.

Dr. Leanne Genge will join Pacific Hematology in September 2022. She completed her internal medicine training in Vancouver before returning to her alma mater for her hematology fellowship at the University of Calgary which she will complete in June 2022. She is excited to start her general hematology practice at Pacific Hematology, where she hopes to maintain a broad scope of practice and welcomes referrals for any hematologic presentation. She will also be working at the BC Cancer Agency caring for patients with hematologic malignancies. She is thrilled to be putting down roots in beautiful Victoria and is looking forward to new hiking and biking adventures in the Pacific Northwest!

Dr. Meg Drew-McKinstry grew up in the Lower Mainland. She attended McMaster University for undergrad and then completed an MSc in Control of Infectious Disease at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. She returned to Vancouver for medical school at UBC before moving to Calgary for IM residency, Hematology fellowship, and an additional fellowship in Palliative Care. She started her career also at the University of Calgary where she has had a mixed practice involving outpatient general hematology clinics, inpatient work, and cancer clinics with a particular focus in geriatric and palliative hematologic malignancies. She has an extended network of family and friends here in Victoria and is looking forward to being near the ocean again after 10 years in Alberta. She will be splitting her time between the BCCA and the Pacific Hematology group.

We are excited to have them join us in Victoria and will start scheduling new consult appointments for them.
