IHealth – News Brief of Apr 24, 2024

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

Island Health medical staff help pave the way to Go-Live

As Tertiary Go-Live approaches, medical staff from across the Island will be involved in the cutover process – transferring patient orders from paper to the electronic ordering (CPOE) platform. Providers’ contributions to the cutover process, alongside nursing, pharmacy, clinical and allied health colleagues, is required for a smooth transition to Go-Live. Cutover will begin several days before Go-Live. More details on what is expected of medical staff will follow soon.

Practice and get expert advice in the Engagement Labs

Practice what you have learned in classroom and virtual education sessions at IHealth Engagement Labs for medical staff, open 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Engagement Lab locations: VGH, S275, next to physician lounge and RJH, Royal Block 203.

“One of the most important things you can do to prepare for the transition to electronic order entry is to practice what you’ve learned in your training sessions,” says Dr. Andre de Wit, IHealth Medical Lead for Provider Education and Experience (ProEX). “The “PLYIH” (play) domain is a close replica of the live system, where you can practice your CPOE workflows as we get closer to Go-Live.”

Another advantage: after you sign-in to the PLYIH domain, you can practice anywhere you have computer access.

Access to the PLAY (PLYIH) Domain is available to all users through the Citrix Workspace folder. More detailed instructions can be found here.
